We harvest and pack your oysters fresh for shipment to ensure they arrive in peak condition. Most orders arrive within 1–2 days after shipping depending on your location. We deliver fresh oysters across the continental U.S. For Alaska and Hawaii orders, please contact us before checkout.
We currently ship Monday through Wednesday to help avoid weekend transit delays and ensure your oysters arrive cold and fresh. During holidays or extreme weather, shipping schedules may vary slightly.
Store oysters in the refrigerator immediately upon arrival.
Best practices:
- Keep them cold between 34–40°F
- Store cup-side down
- Place them in an open container or tray
- Cover loosely with a damp towel or paper towel
- Do not store in airtight containers or fresh water
- Do not freeze live oysters
Keeping oysters cold and able to breathe is the key to freshness.
When properly refrigerated, live oysters typically stay fresh for 5–7 days after arrival. For the best flavor and experience, we recommend enjoying them as soon as possible.
A fresh live oyster should:
- Smell clean and briny like the ocean
- Be tightly closed, or close when tapped
- Contain clear natural liquor inside the shell
Discard oysters if:
- The shell is cracked or badly damaged
- The oyster stays open and does not close when tapped
- There is a strong sour or unpleasant odor
When in doubt, throw it out.
